Monitoring & Supervision

Section 9 is about your responsibility to Monitor & Supervise the worksite. As the employer you need to carry out regular inspections of the worksite to ensure that the workplace is safe and workers are continuing to work in a safe manner whilst on the job. The Workbook provides you with a simple checklist of all the safety features established here. It should be completed at the beginning of every job and then at least weekly to check that the site is as safe as possible and that workers are following safe work procedures. It only requires a short amount of time to complete if all the safety requirements are in place. You should also try and involve workers in the inspection process so that they are actively involved in the safety of the worksite. The completed checklists must be kept in a safe place for verification and reference purposes.
